Enter a website’s URL into Disconnect and the application will analyze it and detect website trackers and unsecured connections. Click visual representation to bring up more info about the trackers and unsecured connections. Click the button from the lower left hand side or the one from the lower right hand side to bring up a list of trackers and unsecured connections.

Enter a query into Disconnect and the application will perform a private online search. This means that you can search for things on Google, Bing, or some other search engine safe in the knowledge that your search will remain private.

Disconnect is available for multiple platforms: Microsoft Windows, Apple Mac OS X and iOS, Google Android. The Quick Look video that accompanies this article shows how easy it is to install Disconnect on a PC that runs Microsoft’s Windows operating system.

A “Welcome to Disconnect” prompt shows up when you run the application for the first time. It tells you that Disconnect keeps your internet activity and your data private and secure, lets you see who’s trying to track you, and lets you see what websites and apps do with your information. It also tells you that Disconnect extensions are available for multiple web browsers: Firefox, Chrome, Safari, Opera.

Disconnect is available as a Free and as a Premium Edition. Disconnect Free lets you see who’s tracking you and lets you perform private searches. It does not encrypt your internet connection, mask your IP address, or protect against hackers and online censorship.

Thanks to Disconnect you can see who’s tracking you and you can perform private online searches.
